Bayou classic day!

Yep, like clock work the annual Grambling St.vs Southern U. game is going to go on today. Until this year, the event was held in New Orleans, our home. It doesn't seem right that the game is being played somewhere else, other than New Orleans. By all means, this is not a negative jab at the wonderful city of Houston, but the bayou classic, that is simply New Orleans. The atmosphere around the city every year grew with enormous anticipation. A number of citizens have either attended, graduated,or has someone in their close circle who goes or went to these landmark historically black universities. Even people who never enjoyed school were in rare form for this game. Many people didn't even want to attend the game, because really the game was a preview into a very long, and sometimes unforgettable night. The day was based on the football game, but many people really didn't care which team the won the game. The genuine battle was between the schools marching bands. That's were many people became divided on. Personally, I am not a bandhead, so I didn't give a damn which trumpet section was louder, or whose drum major was the best. I was only interested in the cheerleaders, and how many good looking college educated black females were in town. Ah, my mini paradise was on display. For years I had forgone this experience, and didn't attend this extravaganza of black love, pride, and entertainment. Last year, I was all over Canal Street, and had a glorious time looking, flirting, and fondling my way through the crowds of females. The environment is so raw, and the energy levels are tipping the scales. The NOPD are out in high alert, and the party doesn't necessarily have a time for stoppage. It's as long as you can hang, and then some more. This is just my assumption, but I think that a lot of people do somethings that they never thought they would do. That is what the Bayou Classic is. Many people who meet for the first time have some lasting relations formed and founded in the midst of this party. There are some instances of violence that occur, luckily I have never had an altercation out there. Most of the credit goes to my g"d up swagger, but seriously, I am a cool customer. I don't really want to get into a fist fight with any of those pricks. I am always moving, and never trying to stay in one spot and wait for trouble to come from out the darkness. One of the many reasons, that I am still alive today, at 23.

I enjoyed Thursday, it was okay. I ate some gumbo, cake, and watched my Cowboys lose in a nail-biter to the Denver Broncos. It was very good game, I just wanted the outcome to be different.

The biggest shopping day of the year, and they weren't telling any lies. I was at a local shopping center on yesterday, and it was crowded. I love when it's packed, the ladies are swarming like a hive was attacked. This is going to be wonderful for the last month of the year, and too think I might be in store for more in years to come, out here in TX.

Til next time, hug yourself, so you can know what it's like when you hug someone else.

hunt for the kill to save the starving villagers, and roam safely in the wilderness
